On the 21st of September we, Manfred Wagner (co-initiator of Galati2020) and Lukas Partsch (Project Manager), had the chance to visit the Romanian Orthodox parish in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. Priest Mihai Bratu and the church-goers of his parish gave us a warm welcome and concelebrated with us. At the end of the service we got the chance to present Galati2020 and the people expressed their interest in our initiative and even contributed financially. Furthermore Priest Mihai and his wife Luminiţa invited us for lunch.
We are grateful for the opportunity and look forward to come back soon!
On 6th of May 2015 the Fair Care project was launched as the first project under the initiative “Galati 2020”. The event was held on May 6th, 2015, in the conference room belonging to the Social - Philanthropic Establishment “Sf. Vasile cel Mare" and attended by representatives of public institutions (Chamber of Commerce, the Municipality of Galati and non-profit organizations), the social-charitable centers of the Archdiocese Lower Danube, carrying out social work in support of the elderly and other stakeholders.
The Fair Care project is implemented by the Training, Information and Community Support Center "Galati 2020" of the Archdiocese of the Lower Danube. The project is established in cooperation with AIDRom (Ecumenical Association of Churches in Romania) and financed by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport Baden-Württemberg and Diakonie Württemberg.
The Archdiocese of Lower Danube organised, in cooperation with the Regional Centre of Sanguine Transfusion of Galati, between 10-11 November 2015, an action of Christian solidarity and philanthropy for the benefit of the hospitalized young persons as a result of the fire of 30 October 2015, in the Club Colectiv from Bucharest.
The people from Galati got involved in such a large number that the capacity of the Blood Transfusion Centre - Galati was exceeded. Therefore, the Archdiocese of Lower Danube decided to provide the medical practice rooms from “Cosma and Damian Saints” Medical Centre from “Saint Vasile the Great” Social-Philanthropic Settlement.
At the blood donation campaing attended priests from the Diocesan Centre, the Cathedral and from the parishes in Galati, professors of the Theological Department of the Faculty of History, Philosophy and Theology, and of the “Saint Andrew the Apostle” Theological Seminary, theological students, seminarian students, religion teachers, and lay employees of the parishes of the city.
The Regional Blood Transfusion Centre - Galati provided the campaign with specialized staff and the necessary technical equipment. Depending on need and availability, the campaign of blood donation campaign organised at the Lower Danube Archdiocese may continue in the coming days – www.edj.ro informs.
Strategic partnership Germany - Romania - Bulgaria.
The process of learning can be fun and it's important to have a long term impact on the individual.
Education does not have to stop after finishing school and it can continue every day of our lives helping us deal permanently with the changes and challenges that we face daily.
Demographic changes and as also the latest challenge for the European countries, migration, demonstrates how important is to continue with training our souls and minds in order to receive, understand, think and apply the best solutions to cope with change.
That is the goal of our common FairGuidance project, funded through the European Commission's Erasmus + Programme. The project is a strategic partnership between Romania, Bulgaria and Germany, with a duration of 2 years. The main goal of the project is to establish guidance and personal orientation and training services in the three participating countries by developing a set of specific tools dedicated to education and career advisers.
In Romania, the concept of lifelong learning is just beginning to be understood and applied. Therefore, with FairGuidance we want to contribute to raising awareness on the topic of lifelong learning as an ongoing challenge and above all, an opportunity to improve the quality of life.
Ministry of Culture and Education Baden-Württemberg, Diakonia Württemberg, the University "Angel Kanchev" in Ruse, AJOFM (Employment Office) and NGO's from the three countries are partners in the FairGuidance project.
The youth. A crucial socio-demographic category to any country’s future.
What does the Romanian youth think of the education system and what is their subjective perception regarding school experience? What are their concerns on aspirations and reality, regarding their professional path? What are their perspectives and gaps between their education and the requirements they need to meet on the labor market, after finishing studies?
Entrepreneurial and volunteering initiatives among young people. What is the attitude of the young people regarding Religion? Religious attitudes and behaviors towards abortion, contraception and homosexuality. What is the interest of the Romanian youth towards politics and how do they protest in front of injustice?
These and many other questions that you will find response to, in the chapters of the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation’s study. By this study, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation – Romania, aimed to fill a gap in our information on youths aged between 15 and 29 years old. The initiative of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation is but one of the regional initiatives aiming to analyze the youths’ status.
